How to Make Things Better in America
You may laugh at my solution but it really is that easy ...
How do we make things better in America? It’s simple - you (no, not “me” but you) show up. We have to stop assuming someone else is carrying the torch. It’s time that you and your family show up.
I’m serious. It’s that simple.
You want to make a difference in your local community you show up.
Show up to Coffee Hours with the Mayor
Show up even for 15 min to a school board meeting
Show up online to the City Council meetings
Show up to the Town Halls with your Congressional Leadership
Show up at community gatherings
Show up to County Commission Meetings …
You show up.
Why? Why does it really matter?
You have to consider the world outside your head and it looks like this:
Leaders pay attention to who shows up in the room. Empty seats matter. When there are empty seats, leaders assume “all is well. We are doing a great job! No one is here to voice their opinion or concern.” (It’s sad that this is our litmus test but … that’s how it is for the moment.)
